Venue
This
year's conference will be hosted by the University
of Sunderland.
Based
close to the modern city centre of Sunderland, in North-east
England, the main venue for the conference is the University's
award winning riverside St. Peter's Campus. The theatres and
break-out rooms are in the state of the art Reg Vardy Centre,
the David Goldman Informatics Centre and the Prospect Building.

Keynote
speakers
Keynote
speakers at this year's conference are Lord
David Puttnam,
Dr. Diana G. Oblinger and Professor
Martin Valcke.
Lord
Puttnam became the University of Sunderland's first chancellor
in May 1998. He is chairman of the General Teaching Council,
a board member of BECTA and chairman of the trustees of the
National Teaching Awards.
Dr.
Diana G. Oblinger is internationally recognised for her leadership
in teaching and learning with technology, including advancing
the concept of student mobile computing and distributed learning.
The former Vice President and Chief Information Officer for
the 16-campus University of North Carolina, Dr. Oblinger is
now a senior fellow with the EDUCAUSE Center for Applied Research
and Adjunct Professor of Adult and Community College Education
at North Carolina State University.
Professor
Martin Valcke is Head of the Department of Educational Sciences
at the University of Ghent and Professor of Instructional
Sciences with research interests including innovation in HE
and the integration of Information and Communication Technologies.

for Learning Technology is an educational organisation
which seeks to bring together all those with an interest in
the use of learning technology in higher and further education.
ALT aims to:
